[Incidents: This game turned out to be the virtual “final” of the tournament, as both Brazil and the Soviet Union where at the time the only teams with a chance to become the new world champion (in spite of their victory, the Brazilians were not mathematically crowned until the last competition day). At the end of the first half, the Brazilian coach Kanela received a disqualifying technical foul after trying to attack the Uruguayan referee Sánchez Padilla, and he had to sit behind the Brazilian bench during the second half. In this tournament, Amaury Pasos completed his amazing progression from the power-forward position at the beginning of his career to that of point guard (armador).]
