* Qualified for Olympic Tournament

NOTE: Originally, this Pre-Olympic tournament included eight teams: the aforementioned plus Guatemala, Greece and North Korea. However, the first two withdrew before the competition for different reasons: a dispute with FIBA for not chosing Athens for a European Cup final (Greece) and lack of financial resources (Guatemala). In the case of North Korea, the Asian team missed the flight connection Moscow-Havana and couldn’t make it to Mexico on time, so all its games were scratched and the original competition calendar was modified.
